These days we see many parents all over spend a lot of money on their kids birthday parties. The parties are celebrated in rented spaces. Then order a lot of food/soft drinks/return gifts and so forth. The kids pick this habit demand the same type of birthday party celebration every year. So what I recommend is we should educate the kids about having simple birthday parties and spending less.
We always kind of have simple birthday parties for my kids. Being new in the city we had few of his friends come by to our home.
It was kind of easy with few balloons, cup cakes and juice.
Would like to highlight that our return gifts were books. I personally feel giving some simple/cheap toys as return gifts is not worth. The kids handle them roughly and even before getting home it ends up breaking ( I remember, my son broke his return gift several times riding in the car back home).
