Shoe racks: There are a variety of options available in the stores. However choosing the right one based on need/budget is the tricky part. As just went through this process and got a shoe rack thought its time to share views.  Lets get started with options available.

I guess below is less expensive shoe rack, unfortunately did not find them here. Used them for 5 year long years trust me its durable and sturdy for just $ 3.99. And very compact for small spaces!

Home depot_ free kids workshop

For those already aware 👍 who are not familiar with and interested !

FREE Kids Workshop at Home Depot every first Saturday of the month 

What the kids get :   Wooden craft kit, the themes are usually seasonal based.All the necessary things for the craft  are neatly enclosed in a zip-lock kind of bag. Inside it are instruction sheet,wooden pieces required for the craft, nails, stickers and a pin badge.They also provide a home depot logo apron. 

Children assemble the craft by following the instructions ( parental supervision needed hammers used), paint, and affix stickers. The best part of the workshop  they get to keep their crafts at free of cost.
And are also given a completion certificate.


We miss that here so was looking for options and ended up finding this. My 8 eight year loves this he has assembled this in various shapes ( instructions enclosed kit) several times ever since we bought. This is good one to keep them busy and creative !

For some unknown reason love sharks, want to create awareness that we need sharks. They are cleaners of the ocean, sharks have been around for 400 million years. Even before dinosaurs !
Let us leave them alone in the oceans, there is fear (after movies like Jaws) that Sharks are human killers.
No they are not, the attacks are most likely due to mistaken identity. Sharks mistake humans/surfers  for seals their favorite food.

Thrifty birthday party

These days we see many parents all over spend a lot of money on their kids birthday parties. The parties are celebrated in rented spaces. Then order a lot of food/soft drinks/return gifts and so forth. The kids pick this habit demand the same type of birthday party celebration every year. So what I  recommend is we should educate the kids about having simple birthday parties and spending less.

We always kind of have simple birthday parties for my kids. Being new in the city we had few of his friends come by to our home.


It was kind of easy with few balloons, cup cakes and juice.

Would like to highlight that our return gifts were books. I personally feel giving some simple/cheap toys as return gifts is not worth. The kids handle them roughly and even before getting home it ends up breaking ( I remember, my son broke his return gift several times riding in the car back home).

Repurposing Cetaphil jars: These jars are cool they are wide mouthed, thus kids find easy to take stuff in and out.
They are white in color therefore looks neat no need to paint or cover up.
The product label comes off with ease leaving no mess unlike other product jars.

All views expressed are completely based on my personal experience: Cetaphil is ideal for folks with dry and sensitive skin. My son's skin used to be very very dry in addition had dark spots on face, back and also on his legs. I knew moisturizing was the best solution so tried different variety none seemed to help.
